Mr. Weisenburger began his legal career while still in law school at John Marshall College of Law
in Cleveland, Ohio, by originally serving as a Ravenna Municipal Court prosecutor under the Ohio Supreme Court's Certified Legal Intern program.
He also authored the criminal appellate briefs for the Prosecutor's office
of Portage County during that time period, including those upholding numerous murder convictions.

After graduating from law school and passing the Ohio bar in 1981, Mr. Weisenburger continued to serve as a municipal court prosecutor for several years,
establishing a reputation as a tough, formidable opponent in the courtroom.
Since leaving the prosecutor's office, Mr. Weisenburger has concentrated on criminal defense
litigation, using his vast experience to defend clients throughout Northeast Ohio.
Over the years, Attorney Weisenburger has built a substantial criminal defense practice, skillfully defending thousands of clients and litigating charges in hundreds of criminal trials.
He knows the local courts, the judges, the prosecutors and the intricacies of the criminal courts in Portage and Summit Counties, giving his clients the home field advantage.
Attorney Weisenburger is nationally certified as a Criminal Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy .
He is the only lawyer in Portage County to be certified as a Criminal Defense Specialist,
and one of a handful among Ohio lawyers.
As a Board Certified Specialist, Attorney Weisenburger is required to maintain high professional standards. He also has to attend substantially more Continuing Legal Education Seminars than the amount required by non-certified attorneys, to keep at the forefront of the constant changes in criminal law.
